Kokila Dhirubhai Ambani School

Jamnagar

Site - 15 Acres, Buildings - 18581 sq M

The KDA School at Reliance Greens caters exclusively to all the children of the staff at the Township - now numbering around 3000. As an institution, it is one among the near-dozen such schools established by the Reliance Foundation for staff welfare, located at various sites across Western India.

At Jamnagar, the School is spread over a dedicated campus that spreads across 15-acres within the Township.  It is organized as a mini-city for children – in clusters, each catering to different age groups and different functions / disciplines. So while the Classroom Clusters occupy the perimeter of the campus, the Core Facilities : admin., library, arts & crafts centre, science centre, multipurpose hall — are arrayed in a diagonal, along the central spine.

Sports Facilities mearge with the Township’s Recreational Club.

The Head Masters Block is centrally located, on axis in the Township – presented appropriately iconic face (despite its essentially windowless façade) – its arcaded expression carried through the facility for its capacity to establish Place and Memory, create transitory space, and cast shadows that shield the buildings as well as encourage internal movement between the various facilities.
